What Makes Our Bukit Batok Preschool & Childcare
Experience Truly Different

A Purpose-Built Preschool Environment Designed for Comfort, Safety, and Exploration

Children learn best when they feel safe and at ease, which is why the preschool environment at our Bukit Batok East campus is thoughtfully shaped around their day-to-day experiences. The setting feels warm and spacious, giving little ones room to move, discover, and build confidence at their own pace. Childcare facilities like cosy reading corners, sensory play areas, and child-friendly furniture help children settle comfortably while encouraging them to explore with curiosity. Families looking for a safe preschool in Singapore often appreciate how the environment supports both learning and wellbeing.

Children learn best when they understand the world around them, so early learning spaces learning often extends beyond the classroom. Simple neighbourhood walks, everyday observations, and small projects help children make sense of familiar spaces and routines. These shared experiences spark meaningful conversations, gently introducing learning beyond the classroom in ways that feel natural and joyful. This connection to place is something families especially value, as it allows children to explore their surroundings with curiosity and confidence.

The heart of our centre lies in our teachers, who bring empathy, attentiveness, and a deep respect for each child’s individuality. They take time to understand what comforts, motivates, or excites each learner, helping children feel seen and supported. Continuous professional learning strengthens their practice, allowing them to guide children’s emotional and social growth with steady, thoughtful care.

Language builds confidence, and children at our bilingual preschool in Bukit Batok experience English and Mandarin in ways that feel engaging and age-appropriate. Stories, songs, music, and play weave both languages into their daily routines, making bilingualism a natural part of everyday life at an English-Mandarin preschool in Singapore. Through these gentle, repeated encounters, children pick up words, rhythms, and expressions that support early language development and help them grow into confident, expressive communicators.

Parents often ask how each level supports their child’s growth. At our Bukit Batok playgroup, children (aged between 18 months and 2 years) learn through guided play, songs, and sensory activities that help build confidence in social settings. Our Nursery level introduces early literacy, numeracy, and character-building values. At our Kindergarten stage, children build on these earlier foundations with richer language experiences, collaborative projects, and routines that help them take on greater responsibility and develop readiness for primary school.

Our full-day childcare programme in Bukit Batok operates from 7am to 7pm, aligning well with most working schedules. Meals are provided, and our teachers keep parents updated regularly on their child’s progress. Many families appreciate knowing that their child is cared for in a safe and nurturing space while they manage their day.

Yes. Children are introduced to both English and Mandarin in daily lessons, songs, and activities. This bilingual foundation not only supports academic readiness for primary school but also helps children develop confidence in expressing themselves in two languages from a young age.

Chaplain Family selfie Susie

Greetings to all of you!

My name is Susie Lim, the Chaplain for both LSP (TSA – Bukit Batok) and LSP (TSA – Bukit Panjang), deployed by The Salvation Army, William Booth Corps. Michael Lau, my fellow colleague is the other Chaplain who is alternating the shift with me since last year. We conduct four sessions of morning assembly per week in both centres. Children, teachers, principals and staff are all very familiar with us as we are like a big family. It is a great joy to share, teach, and interact with the little ones (ages from 18 months to 6 years old) on Christian Values and Good Character through stories from the Bible, to spur and encourage them to work hard and develop their character so that they can grow up to be good and responsible citizens of Singapore. Besides that, I would also spend some time listening to the little ones and the prayer needs of the staff. I would pray for them as well as bring the prayer pointers up to my church’s team to pray (strictly kept confidential).

I am married with two kids, aged 20+ and 18+. About three years ago, I resigned from my role as a principal cum teacher at a Christian Child Care Centre to join The Salvation Army at William Booth Corps as a full-time Community Services Coordinator. I have been attending this church for more than twenty over years. I serve in the church as a Volunteer Sunday School Teacher in the Children’s Ministry. I am also serving in the Flower Ministry, doing the flower arrangement/offering for my church every Sunday to beautify the altar for the glory of God. Being a Community Services Coordinator, I am deployed by the church to connect and build relationships with different groups of communities of different backgrounds and cultures. I also serve at The Salvation Army William Booth Corps @ Bukit Panjang Student Care Centre, CDE (Centre for Domestic Employees) – a shelter for abused domestic workers, and The Salvation Army, Haven Children’s Home. Planning programs, schedules, special events and mentoring new recruits/volunteers are also part of my role as well. Attached my email and reachable contact should you need some assistance. God bless.
